These rugged space-faring dwarves are the backbone of the interstellar mining guild, tasked with harvesting volatile minerals from alien caverns teeming with deadly fauna. Their existence is defined by a relentless cycle of descending into darkness, battling hordes of insects and arachnids, and returning to the surface with enough resources to keep their civilization thriving.

Lore & Background
The culture of the Deep Core Miners is built on a foundation of camaraderie, hard work, and an unshakeable belief that no job is too dangerous if you have your squad behind you. They are not soldiers by trade, but they fight with the ferocity of those defending their home when the caverns come alive. Every mission is a gamble against the unknown, yet the dwarves face it with a stoic resolve and a hearty laugh, knowing that the only thing stronger than the alien threats below is the bond forged in the heat of battle.
In Their Own Story
The airlock hissed shut, sealing out the vacuum of space as Commander Krog adjusted his helmet. 'Rock and Stone!' he bellowed, the sound echoing off the metallic walls of the drop pod. Below them, Hoxxes IV waited—a dark, jagged scar on the planet's surface where the glow of Nitra crystals pierced the gloom. As the drop pod descended through the thick atmosphere, shaking violently from the turbulence, Krog checked his drill one last time. He wasn't here for glory; he was here because someone had to dig, and the galaxy needed their stone. With a collective cheer, the team braced for impact, ready to turn the darkness into profit.
Reader's Guide
The Deep Core Miner operates in four distinct specializations, each vital for mission success. The Gunner provides heavy firepower with a minigun or grenade launcher, acting as the squad's mobile fortress against swarms. The Scout offers mobility and reconnaissance, using a grappling hook to reach high ledges and reveal hidden objectives while throwing flashbangs to disorient enemies. The Driller brings versatility and area denial, utilizing a flamethrower to burn through webs and a drill to create shortcuts or escape routes. Finally, the Engineer constructs automated defenses like turrets and platforms, allowing the team to control choke points and traverse difficult terrain safely. Synergy is key; for example, an Engineer can shoot a platform beneath a mineral deposit high on a cave wall, which a Scout can then grapple onto for safe access to mine it. Together, they balance offense, defense, and utility.
